| The most effective way of treating endometriosis is to treat it as early as possible. Healthy Tissue The Helica beam will only penetrate healthy tissue to the maximum depth of 1mm. (see Dr.John.Webb's paper: In Vitro Comparison of the Helica Thermal Coagulator and the Argon Beam Coagulator) in the medical papers section.

Diseased Tissue Diseased endometriosis tissues are bloody, liquid areas, when the Helica is used on these areas it dries it out which kills the cells. The temperature which is effective to destroy the diseased cells is 80oC. When the endometriosis is deeper, the top layer may be sloughed away and the Helica beam can be continued on the area until healthy tissue is reached. The Helica TC can treat much deeper than superficial endometriosis

| The Helica TC gives immediate pain relief because it destroys the surface nerve endings by caurterising the blood supply. If endometriosis has developed to cause nodes and liaisons, excision is required to remove these, and then the excision site can be caurterised using the Helica TC. It doesn’t affect fertility unlike pharmaceuticals and does not cause adhesions which can cause problems in the long term. |
| When compared to other treatments available like Diathermy and Laser, the Helica TC treatment is highly accurate and it is safe to use on all areas affected, even the vital organs such as the bowel and the bladder. These areas are not normally treatable by the other instruments. |
